10 things you didn’t know about undermine

  • Undermine started as cover band in the garage of singer Matt Fragomeli’s parents house. The year was 2005 and they were known as “Exile.”
  • Scott and Matt are the only two original members of the band since the “garage days”
  • The bands biggest influences mainly consist of grunge, metal and hard rock bands such as Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Soundgarden & Alter Bridge.
  • Scott was lucky enough to meet Alter Bridge on one of their Australian tours.
  • Undermines first album was completely self funded as the band members wanted to avoid any record label control.
  • The impressive album artwork was designed by Scott’s partner. Quite a few fans have said they can see what looks like a man with an afro (possibly Jimi Hendrix) in middle of the flame covered U.
  • The album was recorded using guitar amps from members of The Butterfly Effect as well as guitars from members of Powderfinger.
  • Having sourced well known Canadian/LA producer Brandon Friesen (Comeback Kid, Sum 41, The Music) the lads decided to finish in style by getting the mixing done in LA by Keith Armstrong (Santana, Billy Talent, Joe Cocker, Bon Jovi) and mastering done by Tom Baker (30 Seconds to Mars, Hoobastank, The Living End, Velvet Revolver)
  • Along with Australia, the majority of the bands album sales have been in Italy, Greece & Mexico.
  • As well as supporting the Screaming Jets, Jackson Firebird and Tracer, the guys biggest show in Adelaide was at Hahndorf in front of 25,000 people in support of Kids cancer.

The boys have just released a preview of three tracks from the soon to be released follow up to their debut album. Check it out below.
