From the seemingly endless wellspring of home-grown Adelaidetalent, comes another stand out that’s set to leave its mark on the world music scene. The band is Undermine, with their self-titled debut album due for release in November 2011.

The hype surrounding Undermine has been steadily building, with these four young professional music enthusiasts leaping from the Adelaide gig circuit straight to Ultrasonic Studios to work with none other than Canadian/LA producer Brandon Friesen (Nickelback, Comeback Kid, Sum 41, The Music). Once tracking was completed it was over to LA where the much sought after Keith Armstrong (Santana, Billy Talent, Joe Cocker, Bon Jovi) mixed it down before handing it over to Tom Baker (30 Seconds to Mars, Hoobastank, The Living End, Velvet Revolver) who took on the mastering duties at Precision Mastering in Los Angeles.

The band’s first album, recorded in Brisbane Australia, has already attracted some big name interest from national and international labels and management agencies as the music speaks for itself (think Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam), made obvious by a keen online following which has landed them support gigs with the Screaming Jets, Jackson Firebird and several other Aussie bands.

Lead guitarist, Scott Gummow, said “… recording inBrisbanewas an absolute blast! We did it in a whirlwind 3 and half weeks with myself and Matt taking shifts each day to maximise tracking time on guitar parts.  I’d take the early 8-10 hour shift, then Matty would come in and lay down his vocals, often till daybreak.”  Lead vocalist Matt Fragomeli adds, “… we put a lot into this album with around 2 years of writing and refining back inAdelaide, testing the material in the live scene and seeing what captures an audience. We wanted to make an album that can appeal to the general public as well as the musos out there!”  Bassist Jeremy Martin talks about working with highly acclaimed, award-winning producer Brandon Friesen, “Brandonwas so cool to work with. He had such a creative outlook on arranging and, I guess enhancing our material to its full potential. He’s a musical genius!”

Onstage, Undermine produces a huge head-banging sound with the ability to bring it down and show dynamic intricacies that are second to none. With the addition of Ben Robins on drums, four individually rounded musicians come together to create a well-balanced hard-rocking musical experience that shines through both recorded and live.

Whether it’s the massive rock sound of “Waiting” and “Come For You”, the riffy 70s rocker “Recipe For Disaster”, the pop rock can’t-stop-hummin’-it “Everyday Blues” or the anthemic ballad “Remind Me To Find You”, Undermine’s a must-listen for all those who hunger for more from the world of contemporary rock.
